Charlie tweeted to his followers today a solemn farewell for his recent friend Patrice O’Neal. The comedian known for his sly wit and unique look on life had ribbed big players like William Shatner as well as the guest of honor at Charlie’s Celebrity Roast on Comedy Central back in September. Shortly thereafter, O’Neal had a stroke, which led to complications that took his life yesterday. Today comedians paid tribute to the man including Sheen and Ricky Gervais from the Office UK. Charlie said that the world at large had lost a brilliant man, who had a rare light around him and inside of him and that even though he’d only known him for a few days before his roast, he would forever be inspired by his nobility, his grace and his epic talent. Charlie also wished the fondest and most solemn wishes to O’Neal’s friends and family.
You know, you try to do something nice as a person, rather than a celebrity, and it comes back to bite you anyway. Charlie Sheen is currently being ridiculed for giving a homeless man a 2000 peso note during his recent trip to Columbia. Now that may seem like a lot, and perhaps Charlie thought it was, but it works out to be about $1.03 in US coin. But there is something else to consider besides the exchange rate. The average monthly wage of Columbia is $325 a month, so the cost of living has to be pretty low, certainly much lower than the US and so 2000 pesos probably buys a lot more than a $1.00 would in the US. Still one could argue that with all his money, he could have given more. But the fact that he gave anything should at least give him a little credit. After all, there are ton of people that give $1 bills to the homeless and those dollars do add up.
And two boys and a girl, who were apparently upset that Seth Macfarlane treated Charlie so badly at the roast, even though the two were not at all mad at eachother at the end, wanted to get a little revenge. So they wrote up a note with things like tiger blood and winning, with a picture of Stewie (referring to Seth’s Family Guy character) and ended it with “Roast this b**ch!” They then spread toilet paper all over Macfarlane’s Beverly Hills home, apparently while his security detail was asleep. Bet there will be some explaining to do from both the kids and the guys that let them get that far.
And that’s all the news that we have for the moment. Thanks for reading.
