Sheen Loses in New York City

This week Warner Brother’s legal eagles noticed that Charlie had used one of his old “Two and Half Men” photos as a promotional piece for Anger Management. Of course, this didn’t sit well with them, especially since the show has the potential to be a thorn in the side for the popular series. And so they did what any legal entity would do, they threatened him with a cease-and-desist order.
Now you are probably aware by now that Sheen doesn’t respond well to threats and used the opportunity to get in another round of venom towards his old bosses in a phone interview with the guys at TMZ. During the conversation, Charlie said that he was tired of pretending that his old show didn’t now suck. That replacing him with Ashton Kutcher set the show adrift to the point of where it would need a rescue boat. While at first he said that Ashton Kutcher sucked, he backed off a bit on that when questioned about how he was nice to his replacement at the start, of which Sheen answered that it was the writers that had really gone off the deep end and not Kutcher himself.
Charlie has been really balancing that fine line between bitterness and promotion. He is certainly aware that any time he manages to get under Warner Brothers’ skin, it will be some free airtime. After all, we’re talking about it here as well as is just about every news agency around. So this way he stays relevant. Someone said that he’s been lying low on the subject, preferring to promote his own show over talking about the past, but we haven’t seen that. Just recently, at the NATFE advertiser’s convention where he is helping FX Networks to sell ad spots for his still non-existent show had quite a few words to say about Chuck Lorre and the environment that he felt smothered in. So we aren’t sure how quiet he’s been really.
But this will be just one in a long line of volleys still yet to be launched from both sides. It doesn’t seem like Sheen is backing down, but at least once again we are hearing the honesty that is deep down, instead of the politically correct illusion that he was trying to create.
