Jon Cryer, Charlie Sheen’s ex co-star on Two and Half Men, has stayed relatively quiet about the whole matter, except for his response to be called a troll. He got on Conan a while back and said that he was indeed a troll, the under the bridge kind, which made the audience crack up. But on last night’s Late Show with David Letterman, he got a little bit more serious about it, speaking about Sheen himself.
Cryer used humor to describe the idea that the cast had not seen the meltdown that would end Sheen’s involvement on the show, saying that it wasn’t like Fred MacMurray (My Three Sons) and his ranting about freemason ninjas or Vivian Vance (Ethel in I Love Lucy) using her bladder as a protest tool. The point he was trying to make in all that was that most people in Charlie’s position don’t explode so publicly as he did.
The actor, who will now work with Ashton Kutcher, said he had no ill will at all towards Sheen and that they are still friends. He just hopes that Sheen can get his life back together, reunite with his family, and go on with a happy life.
Two and Half Men returns with a new season this fall on CBS.
