Selma Blair had read for the part of Charlie Sheen’s therapist in Anger Management and had the full support of the man himself, who said that he really wanted to work with her. But producers the other day seemed a bit wary about jumping in right then and were said to be looking at other actresses too. But now it’s been announced that Blair will be cast in the role after all. The official description of the character describes her as beautiful, yet neurotic friend and therapist with benefits to Sheen’s character. It was also officially announced as we reported already that Shawnee Smith (Saw, Becker) would play his ex-wife.
Brooke Mueller’s mom is suing a famed LA real estate agent for allegedly skipping out on her promised referral fee. Moira Fiore, who is an agent herself, but only licensed to practice in Florida and not in California, found a $7 milllion dollar house for Charlie and referred it to Marty Trugman, agent to the stars. She says that Trugman promised her she would get a 25% referral fee out of his commission, but he denies that, saying he met Sheen through Brooke and not through the woman, so no fee is necessary. Charlie, according to sources, doesn’t want the money to go to her at all, but rather to himself or to his children, if anyone is due the cash.
And even though there seems to be a lot of animosity between Jon Cryer and Sheen, at least one star on Two and Half Men misses him and that is Holland Taylor, who played the brother’s estranged mother on the show. Unlike her character, who practically goes out of her way to disown the pair, she really does care about “her boys” in real life. She said that the set of 8 years formed a bit of a family amongst the cast and even though Sheen is gone, that family bond is still there. And she misses him. But she has nothing against Ashton Kutcher and enjoys working with him as well, but as anyone who has lost a family member knows, it’s not really the same as when someone is replaced in one’s life.
Charlie’s father, veteran actor Martin Sheen, who many believe could actually be the president of the United States, after his role in West Wing, is tracing his family’s tiger blood on the reality series “Who Do You Think You Are?” Sheen is digging deep into his Spanish and Irish heritage, finding freedom fighters on both sides of his family tree. His mother’s brother was an anti-IRA warrior back in 1920 where he spent a great deal of time in a Irish prison for his convictions. And Martin’s uncle who avowed communism in the Spanish Civil War, also spent four years in jail and years of house arrest. The actor said he’s proud of their strength and dedication to their causes. The show, which has helped numerous celebrities get back to their roots, is in its third season and airs Fridays at 8pm on NBC. You can also see past episodes, including the Martin Sheen one, on their website at NBC.com.
