If you ever wanted to drive around town like Charlie Sheen, getting all the women hot with your wheels, here’s your chance. A website is auctioning off one of Charlie’s old cars, a 1966 Red Mustang Convertible which the irreverent actor had souped up in 2006 to be more likely seen on a race course, than on the street. It’s got a V8 650 horsepower engine, a roll cage, and a six speed transmission as any NASCAR vehicle. This red and black Sportster will surely make any head turn, especially if you are also wearing a bowling shirt and khaki shorts.
The auction, which is being handled by charitybuzz.com, will be donating the money raised by the selling of the car to C5 LA, an organization that helps underprivileged kids who may be in danger of turning to a life of crime or being a victim. The goal, as their website states, is to have them graduate, go to college and have a prosperous life. They do this by many different techniques, but the biggest one is giving the children a safe place to go, to learn, to study, and to have recreational activities that keep them off the street.
While Sheen does not own the car anymore, the authenticity that he did is greatly enhanced by the fact that he actually signed his name in the glove compartment, like people put their name on their clothes or underwear. The previous owner hasn’t said how he feels about his old car being auctioned off, but given Sheen’s pension for charity work, we are pretty sure that they have his blessing.
There is still time to buy the car. At posting, it was up to $105,000 and still has 8 days to go before the auction ends (November 17, 1:20PM EST), even though according to sources, the car is worth twice that because of the modifications and it’s celebrity owner. It will be interesting to see if Sheen fans will pick up on this one or not. Good luck to those bidding.
