Without a drop of tiger blood spilled, the court drama that pitted Sheen’s David against the studio Goliath ended when the studio agreed to settle the matter quietly.
It is unclear what he got as a settlement, although a rumor was going around that it was in the neighborhood of $25 million, but this is unconfirmed. All that is known is that the studio settled with Charlie for what was owed him since March on syndication rights to the episodes he did appear in. And not the $100 million that he was claiming in his original lawsuit, an amount partially derived by adding in those eight episodes that were not produced and any future syndication with or without him. Since Ashton Kutcher took over, the studio was very adamant about cutting Sheen out of the loop, especially Chuck Lorre.
While arbitration was always the only way forward because of the contract Sheen was in, what Charlie wanted to do initially was angrily rake Lorre and company through the coals over his firing, dragging the studio into a public war. But somewhere along the line, I guess he realized that doing so was not in his best interest. After all, scorn one in the industry and you may find yourself in serious trouble getting other positions. He also came to the realization that it was really his own fault that he got fired. He even told Jay Leno that he would have fired himself too for the way he acted. He’s even apologized for his behavior as of late on national TV.
And so the reformed Charlie didn’t seem interested in waging the battle against those he once called trolls, seemingly just wanting to move on. And who can blame him? He’s wound up coming up on top as he has renewed his love interest with Brooke Mueller, he’s more involved with his kids, the Goddesses are gone, he is working on a new show Anger Management and has been scouted for some movie work. And as one knows, when one is fired, but finds a new job, you tend to forget about the old job you had and go on with your life. And it seems Sheen has done just that.
