Charlie Sheen has teamed up with Funny or Die for a cooking show of all things, “Winning Recipes”. He says that he plans to get on every channel and honestly, he just might do it. This could help him hit the food channels indeed and with talk of flying to Cassiopeia, maybe the Syfy Channel as well. His mind would certainly make a great source of inspiration for their made for TV movies. Anything has to be better than Mega-Shark vs. Giant Octopus. But I digress.
Unlike his webcast the other night on Sheen’s Korner, this one was very funny and surprisingly pretty safe for family viewing (at least as safe as his old TV show). I actually think if he kept up this sort of humor, he could probably have the most popular webcast on the net. And it’s this sort of material that makes me wonder if it’s not self destruction, but clever insight into what the internet likes and how to exploit that. I got to wonder if the joke isn’t going to be on us later on. To me, he isn’t doing anything different than Conan O’Brian did, so why not?
I wanted to thank Charlie too. I learned a lot from the video, like what’s the point of slicing up the tomato or the other vegetables for a salad? Just because that is what they want you to do? I never heard Julia Child and Emeril have the courage to go against the grain like that. And the other thing I learned, which will certainly save on gas bills, is that steak can be cooked with just the power of observation. I hope he comes out with a book soon on how to do that.
I may not be as “winning” yet as Charlie Sheen and shoot lightning out of my eyes, but I do make mean scrambled eggs without using a spatula. Everyone’s got to start the journey somewhere. Anyway, here is the video. Have fun…
