Even though the Super Bowl is all about football, Charlie was more interested in baseball talk when he invited several of America’s favorite pastime members, past and present to join him for the big game.

Sheen has always been friends with many of the major league players, perhaps since his movie days. They joined him most recently at a celebrity poker game for the local high school to support their baseball program and so it’s no surprise that he invited many over to his house to watch the Patriots and Giants mix it up. Among those in attendance were Joe Morgan, the Hall of Famer from the Cincinnati Reds, Kenny Lofton and Todd Zelle who used to play, and current LA Dodger James Loney.

The party wasn’t much more than a gathering really of good friends, a bunch of buddies over to watch the game, like any of the millions of other such events around the country and the world. But Sheen, oddly enough, allegedly only wanted to talk about his favorite sport, which wasn’t the football matchup on TV. No big surprise. We all know that he is a major fan of baseball. He raised money for the local high school baseball team with a celebrity poker fundraiser (many of which were attended by the same people), has donated money to a fan who was beaten by the followers of an opposing team, and starred in the movie Major League, which he played Wild Thing, a Cleveland Indian member. He seemed thrilled that Hall of Famer Morgan was there, even giving him a kiss on the cheek.

The tame nature is certainly in contrast to some of the more wilder parties he hosted back in the 90’s for the Cincinnati Reds, one of which was rumored to feature prostitutes arranged by a local madam, although no one who attended would really admit to that, saying that the only thing they remember is two women who took off their tops. How true the rumor is is certainly anyone’s guess, but the current gathering last Sunday shows that he’s certainly come along way since those days.
