Chuck Lorre to Write Charlie Sheen Tell-All Book

I’m starting to wonder if there isn’t more to Chuck Lorre’s hatred than a simple feud of words. With the lawsuit settled, there shouldn’t need to be anymore fighting between Sheen and Lorre. Charlie apologized for his behavior and his comments and is trying to move on, but it doesn’t seem like his ex-boss is letting it go. Instead, Lorre plans to write a tell all book from his perspective, of course, about how evil Charlie was for those eight years that he was on the show. Why? I guess to turn the knife even more with some sort of personal vendetta?

The biggest thing that struck me upon hearing the news was the irony of it. Lorre was adamant about making sure that there was a gag order on the arbitration proceedings and it didn’t wind up in public court. So he’s afraid of getting his dirty laundry aired, but isn’t afraid to leave Sheen out to dry. I guess if the litigation had been shown on True TV, Charlie could have argued the allegations made against him live and threw in his own. Instead, this way his previous employer now gets to rank on him all he wants without Sheen’s ability to defend against the accusations.

The question is what point does this serve? What could Lorre say that would possibly shock us and turn people against Sheen? It’s all been said before, a lot of which was aired at the roast. We don’t doubt that Charlie was a handful to work with. Anybody who is heavily addicted to drugs, women and alcohol is going to be a problem. We know he partied deeply and took the company of porn stars, hookers, and others. We know that he has had problems being a father to his children. And that his divorces ended badly. Unless he was beating the crap out of kid on the show, I don’t see what else there is to say.

Now I don’t claim to know what Lorre’s real motive is here. But to me, it seems like two things. One, it’s sort of a vanity thing. You called me bad stuff and now I’m going to ruin you, like Michael Bay did with Megan Fox. Considering the man (Lorre) puts out vanity cards with his feelings, this isn’t a big leap. And two, he keeps the show’s name in the media, even if it is at Charlie’s expense, as free advertising. I bet a lot of people watched the first episode not because of Ashton Kutcher, but because it had been hyped so much over the feud.

My mother used to say that he who tries to be the most scornful winds up being scorned themselves. By not letting this go and continuing to rant on even as the other side has apologized and moved on, it only makes Lorre look more like the bad guy no matter what he complains about Sheen. You’d think he would just be content to let it go and go on with his life instead of dredging it all back up for again for little reason than what seems like revenge.

PS: The book cover is not the one from Chuck Lorre, but from Bluewater Productions comic book Infamous: Charlie Sheen
