Oddly enough, production on Two and Half Men was stopped after an episode where Charlie was going to be flying to Paris, but the show had previously intended for him to come back and it was not meant as a cliffhanger for the show, but it has given Chuck Lorre a way to explain his disappearance. Of course, it would be easy to write in a plane crash into the script, but having Charlie die would cause a lot of problems in having to mourn his death. Something Lorre doesn’t want to bring the show down with. Instead, the rumor is that he will simply choose Paris over Malibu and decide to stay, I guess giving his brother the house. Given Sheen’s pension for spur of the moment acts and the fact that he is selling his own house in real life, this won’t be a big shock for the continuation of the show.
The show will not return until the fall schedule, even though it was in the middle of the season when it was stopped. The remaining episodes will just not be taped, and Two and Half Men will start fresh with Ashton Kutcher when it comes back.
