While his first show in the Canadian city of Toronto Ontario met with the usual mixed reviews that has seemed to be the norm for the tour, what caught everyone’s attention was his impromptu march through the streets, followed by hundreds of his fans. With just a Twitter, he mentioned how he would be doing a walk for charity down the 1.2 mile stretch between where he was staying and the tour venue, Massey Hall. The charity for which he planned to raise funds was the Organization for Bipolar Affective Disorders, who received no previous word of the march. It wasn’t until the media started contacting the non-profit group based out of Calgary that alerted them to Sheen’s plan.

Sheen walked and rode and even stood on an SUV and addressed the crowd about the organization and how he planned to raise money, saying that there would be a match dolar for dollar for any donations he received.

Even though Charlie doesn’t have the best reputation and OBAD had no prior knowledge, it didn’t bother them in the least. The director said that they were quite happy to be considered for fund raising by the showman and that they would gladly accept any donations or publicity to help them raise awareness of bipolar conditions.

He has denied having bipolar disorder many times and has even gone so far as to print it on a hat. Instead he says that he’s bi-winning. Either way, he seems to have a soft spot in his heart for those that are suffering from the disease and wanted to help. For which we say “Good for you Charlie.”

The good PR may have been targeted at the bad night he had in Toronto after he pulled another short show on Thursday night. He sat down with a comedienne for an hour before calling up to the stage a women he’d apparently read about in the papers, who’s husband died two years before. He then played a Snoop Dogg video, during which he left, and didn’t come back according to reports. This once again left the audience wondering if it was over or not. Apparently there is no general running time. You get what you get as some cities have gotten 90 minute to two hours shows, some have only gotten an hour. Guess it just depends on what Sheen feels at night.

Perhaps the short time was because of his addiction to cigarettes. Officials told him that he could not light up, as it’s illegal to smoke in a public place in Toronto. If he did so, the show would be stopped and he could possibly be fined or arrested. But to circumvent the law, he used an electronic cigarette, which provides nicotine in mist form like a cig, but doesn’t bellow out any harmful smoke. This was enough to get by the health inspector, who was standing by ready to pounce if necessary.

The torpedo goes on as Sheen plays another night in Toronto before going on.
